Strategic Objectives

Leveraging OSUMC’s existing resources and unique strengths in the emerging science and practice of personalized health care, Ohio State’s Center for Personalized Health Care will engage in the following strategies to achieve its mission:

  • Combine Ohio State’s strengths in biobanking and bioinformatics with expertise in biomarker technology to initiate and facilitate leading-edge PHC biomarker discovery, specifically in the areas of microRNA, SNP analysis, and medical imaging, and in Ohio State’s Signature Programs and Center initiatives.
  • Draw on Ohio State’s recognition as a world-class university to educate patients, students, health professionals, research scientists and the public about personalized health care. 
  • Lead the creation of a national consortium of academic medical centers and biomedical research institutions that will combine the unique strengths of each member to advance the science and practice of personalized health care.
  • Facilitate the incorporation of discoveries and nationally-recognized best practices in personalized health care into health care delivery at The Ohio State University.
